OK OK I bought it at a thrift store BUT it is really clean, someone took care of it. I would feel great if I can resurrect this baby before surrrendering it to electronic waste.

I was able to brew a cup while the reservoir was completely empty; refilled the reservoir during the brew process. Kuerig would turn off when pressing the brew button to brew my second cup; problem persisted. Read somewhere that air can get into the pump and other parts of the system when the reservoir is allow to become empty. Solution was to remove the reservoir take kuerig to the sink and shake vigorously upside down. That solved my problem.

Had the same problem after adding water to the reservoir while it was brewing . That first cup came out but the next shut off after pressing the brew button. You could turn it back on ,select your size and strength , but when you hit the brew button ,it shut off. Took off the reservoir and shook the brewer over the sink a bit , put the reservoir back and it worked. Has since then and I won't fill it while brewing.
Unplugged, take out water reservoir, Upside-down, then rigorously shake it. It works!!!

This problem will happen if the on/off switch (on the back of the machine) is shorted internally, was replaced with the wrong type of switch, or is held down intentionally while pressing any buttons on the front. The on/off switch is a momentary type rocker switch. It should feel spring loaded and return to its original position after you press it. Check to see if the switch feels weird or looks like it has been replaced.

Mine will brew in this condition if I hold the brew button during the brewing, but resorts to that condition again next time. it also has come and gone this week.
Not the time to Screw up during quarantine!
( I do have another coffee maker. I won't perish)
if you read the post, all you have to do is flip the on toggle back like you "think" you would be shutting it off and it should work. I just did it on mine and it's fixed.

Is there another place that the toggle switch can be located? My model is a Keurig Elite. I have looked over the backside of my brewer, top to bottom, and I am unable to find a toggle switch. I also looked on the bottom and sides. Any other suggestions would be welcomed.

In most cases, a Keurig keeps shutting off because the needle in the K-cup basket hasn't punctured the k-cup. Some other causes include clogged exit needles, misaligned water reservoir magnets, dirty machines, or faulty outlets.

You have to make sure the kcup pierces through the needle at the bottom of the machine. Some cups i had to prepare a hole then line up with needle when I placed the kcup in the machine.

I read somewhere else if you remove the water container, clean it and then replace it and refill it that it will reconnect a magnetic in the bottom that loosens with the vibrations of the machine. Tried it and it worked so I would try this first

I had that problem with my Select model and found that cleaning the needles with a paper clip solved the problem. I think that the backed up pressure from the clog turns the machine off.

I cleaned both needles -unplugged and plugged it back in. Reset and cleaned the water intake. Tried with no pod inside
Still kept shutting off right after I selected my choice.
I pushed the handle down more firmly and it “fixed” the issue. Ran it without a pod then brewed 2 cups successfully

It is probable that an air bubble was released from the water pump when you pressed firmly on the handle; if the indicator lights where illuminated then the handle was positioned securely along and was not the issue.
I had tried all the fixes recommended and it still shut off. Someone suggested to remove the water reservoir and shake the brewer upside down. This worked. I had always filled the reservoir with my Brita pitcher to use filtered water and noticed that the water poured directly upon the tank outlet causing a turbulence of air and water. I recalled previously filling the machine with water as it was brewing a cup and the shutoff problem began after that. Air must have been drawn into it and caused a safety shutdown. So don’t fill the reservoir while actively brewing.

Mine is brand new and won't brew, lights come on when I choose size and push brew ,lights go off
I have same issue. If I press strong it will make a cup of coffee if not it shuts off.
Mine was having similar problems to all these. Turns out the actual k cups sits in a detachable cup on the bottom. If this is not seated properly the lid doesn't fully close right and this causes an error that make the screen reset. Just make sure that button cup is pushed in snuggly.
My problem ended up being that the bottom needle was clogged. I cleared that with a paperclip and all was well with the world.

Purchased the K SMART directly from Keurig around July last year. Worked fine for about 10 months and just stopped working. Called Keurig and they replaced it. New unit worked for maybe a month and stopped working. Not the outlet. Called and they replaced it AGAIN. Two weeks later same thing but this time it had a burning smell. Unplugged and called them again. They are VERY APOLOGETIC, and this time I had to return it so they can check it. Also constantly had the unit tell me “used pod” when I just put a new one in. I would open and close it and that usually worked. What is going on with KEURIG? Back to using my BREVILLE COFFEE MAKER now while I wait to see what happens with Keurig! Not sure about the quality anymore.
Try opening it and turning the Kcup 90 degrees so it has 2 holes. Then go through turning it back on and opening and closing the lid, and select size. Mine was doing that.this morning and I tried that and it worked. I found this elsewhere looking for an answer for mine. Good luck.

Thank you all for your solutions! I had a similar problem with the machine turning off. I brewed a first cup but when I tried to brew a second cup, it would shut off. I disconnected it and reconnected it several times but the issue persisted. Then luckily I found this blog and followed several posted answers to fix my problem. I removed the reservoir, took the Keurig to the sink turned it upside down, tapped it a few times, let the residual water drain, turned it right side up, cleaned the needle and put the reservoir back. I connected the machine, set it up for a brew, waited till the water stopped heating, pressed the brew button and bingo it worked. Thanks again everyone.

After pushing the power button, green for a few seconds, the red descale light comes on, then everything shuts down.
How do you descale? Several years ago I used whatever solution Keurig sold me. Took me 2-3 weeks to get rid of the terrible taste. Said I would never to that again.
So please, a simple means to descale. I love my Keurig and want to get it working asap.
